The National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) has recently launched a Public Domain Patent Database, which is now accessible to the public through its website.

This database allows users to easily track and search for all those Patents that have reached the end of their legal term, and for which the applicants no longer possess exclusive rights for industrial and commercial exploitation.

The database enables searches by various criteria (such as searching by owner, inventor, area, title, or keywords, among others). It might become a useful and user-friendly technological tool, improving access to knowledge and the circulation of information. Read more
