Moreover, many Latin American countries face challenges in effectively enforcing intellectual property laws due to lack of resources, knowledge, and necessary technologies.

In Latin America, intellectual property rights are protected by laws and international treaties, such as the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS) of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
