DocketEngine: Patent term extension in China can be requested for drug approval up to five years

As on June 1, 2021, patent term extension can be requested for drug approval to extend the term up to five years, not exceeding 14 years after the marketing authorization date. Applicants make request patent term extension with three months from receiving regulatory approval. The request must also be filed no less than six months from the original term of the patent.
