Russian prosecutor’s office revealed over 3,300 IP rights infringements in 2020

In 2020, prosecutors identified 3,300 violations of intellectual property rights.

To eliminate them, 408 officials were brought to disciplinary responsibility, 89 criminal cases were initiated, and another 300 people were brought to administrative responsibility.

In order to protect the rights to intellectual property objects, prosecutors filed over 1000 claims and applications in courts, the vast majority of which were considered and satisfied.

When information on the sale of counterfeit products is revealed on the Internet, prosecutors file administrative claims in courts. After satisfying such applications, the site is entered into the register, the operation of which is prohibited in Russia.

In 2020, Roskomnadzor received more than 800 court decisions made at the request of prosecutors for inclusion in data in such an information system.

As a result of the measures taken by the prosecutors, access to Internet sites containing information on the sale of various models of goods using the designations of world manufacturers of premium clothing and accessories that were not original was blocked, and penalties were imposed on persons who sold counterfeit products.
